How to edit, review, and save your video, and find help when you need it.

Edit a video

1. Choose a video. Face analysis and masking start automatically. Your original video stays unchanged.
2. Play and review. Use the timeline and playback speed to review the whole video. Tap Show original to compare before and after.
3. Cover missed areas. Pause where masking should begin, tap Edit menu > Add a mask, and draw around the area. Use Start here and End here to set the time range. For moving subjects, draw around the subject at the start frame, then run Track within this time range.
4. Save the result. Adjust Mask style and Extra face coverage in the edit menu. Tap Save to keep or mute audio. Review the result, turn on I have reviewed the result, and tap Export video. Then choose Save to Photos or Share.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Free and Pro?

Free lets you save videos up to 15 seconds. Pro is a one-time purchase that removes the duration limit for saving. You can import, edit, review, and adjust longer videos before purchasing.

Can I use long videos?

There is no app-imposed duration limit for importing and editing. Longer videos need more time and storage. Processing may not finish depending on your device, video format, or resolution.

A face mask slips or disappears

Detection and tracking may miss profiles, small faces, dark scenes, or fast motion. Use Add a mask to cover missed areas and review the frames before and after the change. Always review the whole video before sharing.

My added mask does not move

New masks are fixed in place. Open the mask, draw around the subject at the start frame, and tap Track within this time range. Changing its time range or redrawing it clears tracking; run tracking again afterward.

I cannot save to Photos

Open Settings & help > Check Photos permission and allow adding to Photos in iPhone Settings. Check available storage. You can also use Share to save an exported video to Files.

I purchased Pro, but it is not active

Use the Apple Account that made the purchase, connect to the internet, and tap Restore purchases in Settings & help. Purchases awaiting approval become available after approval.

Will my original video change?

No. Kakusu processes a working copy and exports a separate video. Deleting working data does not delete original or saved videos in Photos.

Will the saved video play faster or slower?

No. Playback speed is for reviewing the preview. Exported videos retain their original speed.

Can I continue after closing the app?

One video and its edits are saved on your device. On iOS 26 or later, analysis and export can continue in the background when the device accepts the request. iOS or force-quitting may interrupt processing. Restart unfinished operations; previously exported videos remain available to save. Deleting the project or the app removes its editing data.
