Privacy policy

How Kakusu handles videos, editing data, and purchases.

Videos and face analysis

Face detection, tracking, and masking of selected videos take place on your device. Videos, audio, and face analysis results are not sent to the provider’s analysis servers. Face positions are used for editing, not facial recognition to identify individuals.

Information stored on your device and deletion

To let you resume a project, the app stores a copy of your video and edits such as mask areas and time ranges. Settings such as mask style and appearance are also stored on your device. Working videos and edits are excluded from backups.

Use Settings & help > Delete working data to remove the current project. Deleting the app also removes its local data. Original and saved videos in Photos are not changed or deleted. Manage videos exported to Photos or Files at their destination.

Photos access and network communication

The app imports videos you select with the system photo picker. It asks for permission to add to Photos when saving an edited video. You can change this permission in iPhone Settings. If a selected video is stored only in iCloud, it may be downloaded from Apple’s services.

In-app purchases

Pro purchases and restoration use Apple’s StoreKit. The app checks verified purchase information to determine Pro access. It does not send purchase history to the provider’s servers and does not obtain payment information such as credit card numbers. Information handled by Apple’s services is subject to Apple’s privacy policy.

Advertising and analytics

The app contains no ads or third-party analytics SDKs and requires no account registration.

This website is separate from the app. The website uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to measure visits and performance. If Google Analytics is configured, browsing information may be sent to Google. Hosting providers may process access information when serving pages. Videos edited in the app and face analysis results are not provided to these services.

Sharing outside the app

When you choose a destination through the sharing feature, the video is passed to that service. Refer to the destination service’s policy for how it handles information.
